Chhatarpur:
A person has been detained in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur for allegedly smearing human faeces on a Dalit man, who unintentionally touched the accused with grease. The incident comes weeks after a person urinated on a tribal man within the state’s Sidhi district, triggering large outrage.
The accused, Ramkripal Patel, belongs to the Different Backward Courses (OBC) group.
A case is being registered in opposition to Mr Patel underneath related Sections of the Indian Penal Code, a police officer informed information company PTI.
The sufferer, Dashrath Ahirwar, who approached the police on Saturday, claimed that the incident occurred on Friday whereas he was engaged on the development of a drain in Bikaura village, about 35 km from the Chhatarpur district headquarters.
The accused was bathing at a close-by hand pump when he touched him with the grease he was utilizing within the building work by mistake, Mr Ahirwar mentioned.
“Ramkripal Patel introduced human faeces in a mug he was utilizing to wash and smeared it on my physique, head, and face,” he informed reporters, including that Mr Patel even abused him over his caste.
“I reported the matter to the panchayat and known as for a gathering. As an alternative, the panchayat imposed a high quality of Rs 600 on me,” Mr. Ahirwar alleged.
“A case is being registered in opposition to Ramkripal Patel underneath Sections 294 (punishment for obscene acts or phrases in public) and 506 (felony intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes (prevention of atrocities) Act,” Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Manmohan Singh Baghel mentioned.
Dashrath Ahirwar and the opposite employees have been joking with Mr Patel, who was bathing close by, Mr Baghel mentioned.
“They have been throwing issues at each other playfully when Mr Ahirwar put grease on Mr Patel’s hand. Mr Patel then picked up human faeces along with his palms and threw it at Mr Ahirwar,” the police officer mentioned.
The accused and the sufferer are each of their early 40s, the police mentioned.
